Why do these animals have a check the eye of so any people? Well, each of these animals have a certain meaning to the people that go to the wildlife park. Each animal I chose had a special reason on why in wanted to talk about each of them. The first the uniqueness of the eagles they have in the park second, I will talk about the great gray owls they have there and how special they are and how many are left in Canada, and third the amazing arctic wolves they have at the park and how they have a patterned when they walk around in their area and how they are able to walk on such cold ground with no problem. As each of these animals have a reason why they are there and many of them has been there for a while.

As each eagle has a unique thing about them as the eagles in the park, they are in the park for wing injuries, as Coho arrived in the park in 1996 and Chinook arrived in 2003. As the diet for eagles are mainly fish but they also are known for eating carrion. As all bald eagles’ mate for life but they won’t start to breed until they are four years old, once they mate and they find a spot find a nesting spot they will always come back to nest in the same spot for as many years as they can lay eggs. As many eagles are unique, they all have the same traits for example they share the same habitat their diet is the same and they have all the same reproduction system.

As great grey owls are in great danger as there are only 25,000 pairs left in Canada, so with saying that they are in danger. But why are Spectra and Torrhen in the wildlife park and how long have they been in the park, well Spectra was in the willowback wildlife refuge she was in there shortly after she was struck by a vehicle and broke her wing in two different spots, with the extensive injures she had this prevented her from being released. Torrhen was born in the Calgary Zoo in May of 2018 and was moved to the wildlife park in 2020. With only having 25,000 pairs of these amazing owls left it is so important that we take great care of them while we still have them here as there are only 50,000 of these owls left in Canada.

As the arctic wolves at the park, they are three siblings born at Parc Safari in Quebec in 2014 there is 1 female (Sijja) and 2 males (Marraq and Ajaja) and they were moved to the park in 2016. As I was at the park, I have noticed the small paths all in there encloser and I soon realized that they were pacing so they are able to have eyes on everyone, this made me think how they are able to walk on the cold surfaces without their paws freezing. So, what I was able to find out is that their paws have thicker pads on the bottom of their feet which makes it easier for them to walk on snow ice and sharp rocks in the winter.

As each of these animals has its own story on why they are in the wildlife park as a lot of the animals in there are in there for injures as they won’t be able to be set free  due to the injures they have. As the eagles are unique as they have the same mate for the life and when they nest, they have the same nesting place. Due to the small population of great grey owls, there are 25,000 pairs which makes that there are only 50,000 of these amazing owls left in Canada and many of them are in wildlife parks or in zoos. Artic wolves are so unique as they have thicker pads on their paws and this helps them with walking on snow and ice and sharp rocks in the wild.
